part I.
my eight year old passed me a note the other day. it state, what is god?. my lapsed-catholic former-atheist husband glanced over and replied with raised eyebrows — “you can answer that one”. so i sat down to meditate and asked to receive from the higher self an answer to this #omfg question.
while our kids have heard me go on about angels, afterlife, past incarnations and spirits and accustomed to their mama going on a woo woo tangent, the utterance of the term god remains a rarity. however when i channel from my higher self, they use the term upstairs (dare i say) religiously. i figure there is no earth-bound bias in the spiritual realm compared to the weight or wariness of using the word downstairs here on the physical plane.
part 2.
god is a term that has been overused and abused in modern times. it is a word that warrants biblical depictions or christian ideals of an old bearded guy in robes hanging ten on a cloud in the ether, when god really is not human or a spirit or anything but everything.
god is in the trees, in the air and your hair. god is the made-up word by human beings in order to capture the essence of being. god is the nickname given to source or source consciousness, a higher, the highest be-ing or presence of lightness and darkness all encompassed in the one entity that defies sexuality, gender or division of any kind.
god is wholeness or oneness. god is an entity of sorts. he/she/they/ it is a force that creates all that we inhabit here on earth and the greater universe. god is a universal being and creative really — a being that creates and destroys, creates and destroys and creates and destroys, over and over again in an attempt to understand itself. we are micro versions of this god, in our daily lives — we create and build and then destroy to understand the lessons of with and without, lightness and darkness of being and so forth.
god is merely a term we created to describe the all encompassing presence of every-thing in its totality. god is ‘the dude’ pretty much — or the dudette or duderino of the universe.
