this issue is a continuation from issue 33 the one about past lives and relates to issue 14 the one about soul connections & contracts. i share as dee and my earth-bound self in part I and channel my higher self doris in part II to gain a higher perspective on past lives and why we choose to partake in incarnations. kindly note that ‘god’ can be substituted for any venerable you prefer and ‘heaven’ for a non-physical plane that resonates with you.

part I.

i often find myself drawn to pieces and pictures or gravitating towards an object that bears no connection to my own ancestral heritage and naturalised surroundings. when this happens, i feel it’s a magnetism that stems beyond the present moment and is a tug from another life lived. through meditation and hypnosis to access past lives, i have regressed into numerous former lives immersed in varying locations and cultures that i find myself deeply fascinated with, in this current life.

what i have become conscious of through these regressions is that my leaning towards an art movement or design era is no accident. my affinity for aged and worn furnishings is not particularly serendipitous. my pre-occupation with old linens and antique cottons is in fact a familiarity that extends beyond lifetimes — and what we find ourselves inexplicably enraptured by is our souls accumulation of taste and style over innumerable incarnations, showing up as little clues in how we adorn ourselves and decorate our abodes.

part II.

you choose your suit, be it a meat-suit, a tweed wool suit, a pinstripe suit or a no-suit thanks — it’s un-suit-able for me — whoever that is anyway. the me is a construction of the matrix and your higher self/pure soul wanting to learn the lessons offered by the universe and we seek to understand ourselves through division and joy or joy division even.

there may be a time in your souls life where you’re like, okay — i want to learn the lesson of love and grief — so you choose an avatar.
