could meditation & music conjure magic?
dearest readers
every day i listen to the same mixtape while meditating and it have found it sets the tone, resonance and rhythm for the day and for the season. i stay away from anything with lyrics as i don’t like external words to tamper with the phrases i am receiving from my own channel. this carries on for the season before i move into making another mixtape.
i listened to this one every morning for the first part of last year and named it love is magic meditation. i spent a lot of that time conjuring and actioning my second book. it is more masculine in tone with big reverberations which i find useful for motivating and maintaining momentum for purpose and yang driven work.
while i was putting this together and entering my ennio morricone era, there was a cute moment of synchronicity that let me know i was on the right track with the manuscript. a friend recommended i watch the 2006 film ‘the holiday’ starring jack black and kate winslet. there’s a flirtatious scene where the jack character is at the video store with the kate character and he’s recommending movies to pick based on their soundtrack theme songs. he gets to ‘the mission’, scored by morricone and he states,
“this one is genius. it comes from a totally different place. i can’t even— promise me you’ll rent it and listen to it. it changed my world.
“rented”, she replies.
truly, i can’t even— promise me you will click on the mixtape below and listen to it. tap the ♡ to save it. it will change your world. this music is magic. ennio-joy :)
“ah, music," he said, wiping his eyes. "A magic beyond all we do here!
